St. Matthew Church/School Financial Policy 2009-2010
TUITION
Tuition is an integral part of the St. Matthew's School and Parish budget. Tuition is based on enrollment, as well as salaries, teacher benefits, office and maintenance requirements. It also supports our continuous effort to improve the school and learning conditions for our children. Every attempt is made to keep expenses down without sacrificing quality education.
Payment for tuition is made in one of two ways:
- In full by July 31, 2009
- Monthly installments made by automatic debit deduction This process is administered by Wilmington Trust Company. The twelve (12) month payment plan begins in July 2009 and ends June 2010. Payments may be debited on the 15th or 30th of each month.
MISSED PAYMENTS
If a tuition payment is returned for insufficient funds, your bank will notify you. Wilmington Trust will also notify St. Matthew. Your tuition will be resubmitted for payment on the next scheduled debit date to Wilmington Trust Company.
In the event of repeated missed payments, you will be notified by St. Matthew that your child(ren) will not be permitted to return to school until all tuition debts are satisfied. If the family includes an eighth grade student, he/she will not be permitted to participate in graduation ceremonies unless all tuition debts are satisfied.
TUITION RATES
There are two rates for school tuition: parishioner and non-parishioner. School families who expect to receive a parishioner rate must contribute a minimum of $8 per week ($416 per year) to the St. Matthew Church offertory collection. This amount is based on the prior calendar year contributions beginning January 1, 2008 through December 31, 2008. If offertory obligations have not been met to date, it is necessary that payment be made as soon as possible. Staying current with quarterly offertory is imperative!!!!!!
Please note: For the upcoming school year, offertory needs to be current by March 31, 2008. For families that fail to comply, there will be a $48 Administrative Fee once the contracts have been completed, as this results in double work for our business office. This fee will be added to your total tuition.
Also, families from other parishes may receive our parishioner rate if they submit a letter from their parish stating that they are registered, contributing members of that parish. This letter also must be submitted to the parish office no later than March 31, 2008. Failure to submit this letter in a timely fashion will result in a $48 Administrative Fee, which will also be added to your total tuition.
TUITION REFUNDS
In the event a child is withdrawn from St. Matthew School, tuition will be refunded and pro-rated on a monthly basis. All fees are non-refundable.
Questions should be directed to Frank Quinlan, Business Manager (302) 633-5850 ext. 159.
